Producers JAMES JACKS and SEAN DANIEL are partnered in Alphaville Productions, an independent media company headquartered at Paramount Studios. Since its inception in 1992, the company has produced: Dazed and Confused, directed by Richard Linklater; Hard Target, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and directed by acclaimed Hong Kong director John Woo; Heart and Souls starring Robert Downey Jr., Charles Grodin and Alfre Woodard and directed by Ron Underwood; Tombstone, starring Kurt Russell, Val Kilmer and an all-star cast; Mallrats directed by Kevin Smith; The Gulf written by Billy Bob Thornton and Tom Epperson; Michael starring John Travolta and directed by Nora Ephron; The Jackal starring Richard Gere and Bruce Willis; and A Simple Plan starring Billy Bob Thornton, Bill Paxton and Bridget Fonda and directed by Sam Raimi.

 

SEAN DANIEL (Producer) received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts and began his career with Universal Pictures in 1976 as an assistant. Two years later he was promoted to vice president of production. He served as president of production for the motion picture group from 1984 through 1988.

During this period, he supervised such films as National Lampoon's Animal House, Coal Miner's Daughter, Missing, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, The Breakfast Club, Brazil, Sea of Love, Field of Dreams, Do The Right Thing and Gorillas in the Mist.

Before partnering with James Jacks, Daniel produced CB4, the rap music satire written by and starring Chris Rock, as well as the searing portrayal of Latino gang life American Me, starring Edward James Olmos. With Jacks, he served as producer on last year's The Jackal, starring Bruce Willis and Richard Gere.
