Arnold Vosloo
Imhotep, High priest of Osiris
The holiest of High-priests, Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo) was entrusted by Pharoah himself to prepare the dead and grant them safe passage to the afterlife.
Risking Pharoah's jealous wrath, Imhotep fell in love with the king's beautiful mistress, Anck-Su-Namun, and she with him. In a fit of passion for his lover, Imhotep murdered Pharoah, an act which brings a fate worse than death!
For his crime, he was cursed to live forever in the darkness of his tomb, suffering eternally, the torture of ravenous Scarab beetles.
Now he lays in wait for the day that he will rise again, take human form and avenge his curse.

Seeking adventure in Egypt, American Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser) decided to join the Foreign Legion. While fighting an army of ferocious Tuareg Horsemen, O'Connell stumbled upon an undiscovered Egyptian burial site.

Evelyn's mischievous older brother Jonathan (John Hannah), also a scholar, devotes more time exploring Cairo's local bars than to his studies.

Professional thief Beni (Kevin J. O'Connor) has only two things on his mind: Treasure and more treasure. Images of Egyptian gold, rubies and amber dance like mirages in his head. Even the terrifying power of the Mummy's curse isn't enough for promise of uncovering the hidden riches of Hamunaptra.
